Monday, Aug 28 - Activity 1.4 targets: analyze the structural components of a personal narrative. Write a summary examining the central incident, response, and reflection in a personal narrative. Students will be reading "The Scholarship Jacket" by Marta Salinas.

Tuesday, Aug 29 - Completing activity 1.4, "The Scholarship Jacket". Students will be working on a quick write assignment on Google classroom. The quick write will focus on what the narrator of "The Scholarship Jacket" has learned from the incident. Students will need to provide textual evidence for their answers.

Wednesday, Aug 30 - Activity 1.5 - "Bad Boy" by Walter Dean Myers. Students will be focusing on incident, response, and reflection. Targets: analyze a narrative for multiple incidents and responses, analyze how language can shape the development of a character, and brainstorm choices they have made in the past.

Thursday, Aug 31 - Completing activity 1.5. Students will work in small groups to choose a topic they could potentially write about for their personal narrative embedded assessment. They will work on

Friday, Sept 1 - Spelling and vocab test. Students will begin to write a personal narrative about a choice they have made. We will focus on opening your narrative with an effective lead, and how to get the reader interested in your story.
