Warmups: National Geographic pictures of the day

Spelling and Vocab: List 3, performing arts

Monday, Sept 11 - Activity 1.7 in Spring Board - students will be focusing on the introductions of the short stories we have read in class. 3 main intros include reaction, dialogue, and action. By the end of class, students will be making an introduction for their own personal narratives that fits one of the 3 main intros.

Tuesday, Sept 12 - Mrs. S's personal narrative. I will be finishing my story about the last day of 8th grade. Students will be focusing on identifying figurative language and sensory details. Students will also be identifying adjectives and adverbs.

Wednesday, Sept 13 - Activity 1.8 - students will get practice writing sensory details. They will look at vintage photos and write a short story about what is happening in them.

Thursday, Sept 14 -Activity 1.8 "Why Couldn't I Have Been Named Ashley?" Students will be focusing on sensory detail and figurative language. Students will have time to get back into their personal narratives and add more sensory details and figurative language throughout their story.

Friday, Sept 15 - Vocab test. Students were given time to make corrections to their personal narratives today. They will be Due on Tuesday, September 19th.
