Analogy warmups

Monday, Jan 22 - Foreshadowing and flashbacks activity. Students are comparing the flashbacks in The Sandlot to the flashbacks in Tangerine, looking for specific evidence of how a character's choices have an impact on others. Students are also looking for the techniques of foreshadowing in a novel (using different fonts, the use of repetition, and having the narrator talk about things that are very 'out of place').

Tuesday, Jan 23 - Reading day - students will be reading from pages 33 - 70 in class today.

Wednesday, Jan 24 - Completion of reading pages 70- 77. Reading quiz. Students will have a character chart to keep with their books to help them keep the characters straight - there are a lot of them!! Choices and consequences chart over pages 33-77.

Thursday, Jan 25 - Students working in writing groups to complete activity 3.6 - focusing on the brother relationships as well as the writing prompt comparing the sibling pairs.

Friday, Jan 26 - Vocab test and library day
